The Caspian flotilla is one of the oldest operational units of the Navy (Navy) of the Russian Federation. The main base — Astrakhan, location-based and location — Makhachkala and Kaspiysk in Dagestan, in the village of Nikolskoe and Trudfront in the Astrakhan region.
Flagship — guard missile ship “Tatarstan” (project 11661K, type “Cheetah”).
Currently, the composition of the fleet includes more than 50 ships, including:
- 2 patrol ship of the project 11661K (“Tatarstan” and “Dagestan”),
- 3 small missile ship project 21631 (“Grad svijazhsk”, “Uglich”, “Velikiy Ustyug”),
- 4 small artillery ship project 21630 (“Astrakhan”, “Volgodonsk”, “Makhachkala”), and 12411 (MAC-160),
- 1 missile boat (repairs to 2008)
- 5 artillery boats
- 2 base minesweepers,
- 5 inshore minesweepers,
- 6 landing craft,
- small hydrographic vessel “Anatoly Guzhvin”,
- the rescue tugboat SB-45, etc.
The fleet — several brigades and battalions of ships, naval infantry, coastal missile and artillery troops, etc.
