The decision of the Presidium of the Higher attestation Commission (VAK) of the Russian Federation for the doctoral dissertation of the Minister of culture of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky was expected, said in an interview to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” the head of VAK Vladimir Filippov.
On Friday, a meeting of the Presidium of higher attestation Commission, which decided, whether to recommend to the Ministry of education and science to keep Medina for the degree of doctor of historical Sciences. Following the meeting, Medina told reporters that the Presidium of the HAC majority (70% vs 30%) decided to recommend to the Ministry of education to maintain them degree.
“In my understanding, it (the decision) was expected. And, I think, not only mine. I know many of the members of the Presidium of the HAC that in such difficult cases tend to hear both sides, understand their arguments, to understand the details,” said Filippov.
