“Green Alliance” will offer Sobchak become the candidate of this party
Moscow. 19 Oct. INTERFAX.RU — the Party “Green Alliance” has declared its readiness to nominate the TV presenter Ksenia Sobchak on the Russian presidential election in 2018.
“At the meeting of the Central Council Alexander Zakondyrin (Chairman of the party — Interfax) has proposed to Xenia Sobchak to run for President from the “Green Alliance”,” — reported “Interfax” the press service of the party.
According to Zakondyrina, which lead to the press service, the final decision will be made at the Congress of “Green Alliance” in December 2017 on the basis of consultations with his campaign Sobchak.
The press service noted that the Central Council of “Green Alliance” supported the idea of nominating women for President of Russia.
“At the heart of any green party is the principle of gender equality, including in politics. Over the last 20 years in Russia, a large number of women politicians, state and public figures, which in some cases can work much better of their male counterparts,” — said the head of the party.
He added that Sobchak may become a single candidate from all the political organizations of an ecological orientation.
Before Sobchak has announced plans to participate in the presidential elections in 2018. Support for extra-parliamentary parties allows the potential candidate to collect 100 thousand signatures in support of nomination instead of the 300 thousand that is required in the case of self-promotion.
