In New Zealand somebody was hiding library books in secluded places. It turned out to be not bullies

The staff of the Central city library Auckland (New Zealand) found out why the shelves had books. The librarians found them in secluded places such as under the seats or under the shelves — surprised and restored.

As it turned out, the book wasn’t hiding bullies, and regular visitors to the library. They were homeless, which due to the lack of a permanent address can’t sign up for a subscription and pick up their books.

Such visitors, failing to finish work in the evening, hide books in the library, to return the next day and continue reading.

To help homeless, visitors, the staff of the library opened a special shelf — it is possible to leave the book and return to it the next morning.
