LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky suggested to enter the additional days of vacation instead of Christmas vacation. It is reported RIA Novosti on Wednesday, October 18.
“Statistics show that from 1 to 10 January, from alcohol abuse prematurely killed 20 thousand people. Well, why do it? Who does that? The state Duma. You leave rest days, but let it be additional leave, the man himself will decide when to rest,” said the liberal Democrat.
According to the politician, in the new year holidays Russians abuse alcohol due to the lack of employment. Zhirinovsky said that the total output must leave on January 1, and other days employees must distribute during the year at their discretion.
In June the head of the faction has already acted with the similar initiative. Then he noted that forced long new year holidays have a negative impact on the economy.
In the same month, deputies from the Communist party faction in the Duma introduced a bill repealing the holidays. According to the authors of the document, the output should be only 1 and 7 January.
In turn, the speaker of the lower house of Parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin urged MPs not to frighten the citizens by the abolition of the Christmas holidays. The Federation Council also have a negative attitude to the initiative of the Communists.
Earlier, the government approved holidays calendar for next year: the Russians will have a rest from 30 December 2017 8 January 2018. Also next year, citizens will not run from 23 to 25 February, from 8 to 11 March, from 3 to 5 November. In addition, extra weekend, the citizens will receive in may and June.
