The defense Ministry has tested a new missile for the Iskander missile systems at the Kapustin Yar in the Astrakhan region. This was stated by the head of the object major-General Oleg Kislov, noted on the official website of the defense Ministry.
“Of the most important events held in recent times, it is possible to note the completion of the interagency testing a new missile for missile complex “Iskander”,” – said Kislov on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the polygon.
Among other achievements, he noted the work on development of advanced missile system silo-based.
“Iskander” is a family of tactical missile systems designed to destroy small and area targets, primarily air and missile defense, command posts and infrastructure facilities. “Iskander-M” — version with quasi-ballistic missiles, manufactured with the use of reducing the visibility of “stealth technology”.
S-400 “Triumph” long-range multi-channel anti-aircraft missile system, equipped with several types of missiles of various ranges. Developed in 2000-e years in the NGO “Almaz”, she develops solutions used in the system s-300PMU-2 “Favorit”. Adopted in 2007.
