Us senators John McCain and Ben Cardin issued a joint statement accusing the US President of Donald trump and his administration that the new sanctions against Russia still not been introduced. A statement posted on McCain.
Disgruntled senators recalled that by October 1 the White house was to introduce new anti-Russian sanctions in the field of defense and intelligence.
“The delay puts into question the commitment of the administration to trump the bill on sanctions, which was signed more than two months ago after several months of public debate and negotiations in Congress. They had plenty of time to join in this direction,” — said in a statement.
In addition, the senators accused the presidential administration in non-significant diplomatic efforts to increase pressure on Russia.
The President of the United States Donald trump signed the law on new sanctions against Russia on 2 August. It provides, inter alia, reducing to two weeks the maximum period of funding of banks, which are under sanctions, and up to 60 days for oil and gas companies. U.S. Secretary of state Tillerson Rex was commissioned to oversee restrictions on Russia.
