In Dubai arrested a Scottish man just touched his thigh
In Dubai have arrested a 27-year-old Scot Jamie Harron. Dubai authorities say he was arrested after he put his hand on the thigh of another man at the bar.
Herron spent five days in a prison cell, and now he is forbidden to leave the city pending trial. Charged with obscene behaviour in a public place he faces a prison term of three years. The British foreign office said that provides him with consular support.
The arrest of Charron was the second arrest of a Scotsman in Dubai after the case of William Barclay from Edinburgh, who was arrested in Dubai while trying to exchange the counterfeit notes for 20 pounds. He was held in a Dubai jail for three days, then released. He is already back home.
“Outrageous story”
A support group called Detained in Dubai (the”Detained in Dubai”) announced that Jamie Harron was arrested for lewd behavior in a public place on 15 July.
