Kudrin believes that Russia underestimates the new US sanctions
MOSCOW, October 31. /TASS/. The head of the Center for strategic research (CSR) Alexei Kudrin believes that Russia underestimates the new sanctions from the United States. This opinion he expressed at the conference of the EDB.
“Three or four days ago published a new sanctions list [USA] — we have in Russia is underestimated. This is a brand new, high quality tougher sanctions”, — said Kudrin.
“Now any company in the world, if it is to conduct transactions with these Russian companies (in the sanctions list — approx. TASS) it falls into this sanctions list. They [the USA] put a threat to companies in other countries. We are now looking at how these sanctions will be effective,” — said Kudrin.
According to him, in this regard, Russia will be forced to make more use of the ruble in the calculations.
“This sanctions story creates great risks for transactions in more stable currencies. This will spur the use of the ruble, even if it may be more expensive,” he concluded.
