The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill
The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill believes that atheists, although their number is small, seek to “to ideologically dominate” over the believers. He said this in an interview with the Romanian edition of Q Magazine.
According to Cyril, the atheist ideas are often aggressively promoted and “supporters of radical secularism are constantly trying to establish their ideological dominance over all believers, who constitute the majority of our planet.”
The head of the ROC I am sure that most atheists live in developed countries: “They are concentrated mainly in societies with the highest level of consumption, whose members seem to believe that heaven for them has arrived.” As noted by the Patriarch, in Russia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and the Arab world the number of believers is growing.
According to the sociological poll “Levada-Centre”, more than 90 percent of Russians belong to the Orthodox with respect and kindness and 53 percent call themselves believers.
