Klimkin saw ways to deprive Russia of the right of veto in the UN

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin believes that it is necessary to pass a difficult way to deprive Russia of the right of veto in the UN security Council. About it as transfers UNIAN, he said at the conference “Kiev transatlantic dialogues”.

The Minister asked the question, is it possible to deprive Russia of the right of veto in the UN security Council. “Of course, but this should go a very complicated way. What this may lead? First, the reform of the UN, Russia and its blocks. And second is the possible decision of the International court”, — said Klimkin.

According to the Minister, that Ukraine and works in the International court of justice. “That is, of course, a difficult process. It can’t be done today or tomorrow, but you need to be more consistent, and Russia understands this, and that very fear,” — said Klimkin.

In his opinion, the UN is an indispensable element for the maintenance of international architecture, but the organization requires the urgent reform of the whole of its structure. “One of my friends once said a very sad joke, I think this is a very sad joke — we need a Third world war to reform the security Council,” — said Klimkin.

In September it was reported that the national security Council and defence of Ukraine is preparing a single lawsuit against Russia with the complaints about the Donbass and Crimea. The subject of the claim are questions of ownership of property on the territory of Crimea, shelf of the Black sea and destruction of the infrastructure of Donbass.
