Director of Ramtha Sophia Apfelbaum detained after interrogation in SK
SK detained Director of the Russian academic youth theatre (RAMT) Sophia Apfelbaum after questioning.
According to iz.ru, a former official in the Russian Ministry of culture suspected fraud documents through which ANO “the Seventh Studio” by Kirill Serebrennikov received the government contract to 214 million rubles, of which at least 68 million was stolen. In the near future the consequence intends to petition for her arrest.
In SK believe that Apfelbaum gave his subordinates the order to develop terms of reference “for a specific member” of the auction and there was introduced a clause stating that the contract must have the copyright or license to the project “Platform”.
18 Aug 2011 the tender Commission headed Apfelbaum recognized ANO, “the Seventh Studio” the winner of the auction. In September she received the post of Deputy Director of the Department of state support of professional art and national creativity of the Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation, and in July 2013, headed it. In fact, the official has acted as the state customer — her name was the contract for the sum more than 214 million roubles and signed the additional agreement with ANO “the Seventh Studio” and reports on the expenditure of budget funds.
It is worth noting that to date, Apfelbaum is on the case as a witness, but, most likely, its status will soon change.
Recall that one of the defendants in the criminal case of embezzlement is Kirill Serebrennikov, who created the company “the Seventh Studio”. In 2011, the famous Director has developed a project for the development and promotion of contemporary art “Platform”. For its implementation, the Ministry of culture has allocated more than 214 million rubles.
The case also pass the former General producer of the “Seventh Studio” Alex Malopolski, former CEO of the troupe Yuri Itin, chief accountant Nina Masliaev and producer Ekaterina Voronova.
