Met with son trump the Russians talked to US Senate
Members of the U.S. Senate, investigating the possible connection of Donald trump with the Russian government, spoke to citizens who attended the meeting with the son of the current President.
Richard Burr, head of the Commission of the Senate investigating the possible intervention of the Kremlin in presidential elections in the United States, said that he was able to speak with some citizens who attended the meeting with his son Donald trump in June 2016. He did not specify with whom he spoke and refused to comment further, according to CNN.
The meeting was attended by four Russians, reminds broadcaster: lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin, the translator Anatoly Samodurov, and also Vice-President of Crocus Group Irakli Kaviladze.
At the end of August, the Financial Times reported that Akhmetshin, who worked in Soviet times, the GRU, gave evidence about the meeting with the son of trump. However, there was no information about what exactly was told by a lobbyist that has now dual citizenship of Russia and the USA.
Meeting Akhmetshina and Veselnitskaya son of tramp took place on 9 June 2016. Her son, presidential candidate allegedly promised to pass the information discrediting Hillary Clinton.
It is known that the trump Tower was also attended by the future President son-in-law Jared Kushner and political adviser to billionaire by Paul Manafort. The latter two testified before the Senate Commission, then how to achieve questioning trump’s youngest congressmen failed.
This week, Donald trump said that all the investigation about the possible intervention of Russia in the U.S. presidential election was intended to justify the defeat of the Democratic candidate. “They need to get over it, because the American people are tired of this story” — said trump.
