The Syrian city of raqqa and its environs will become part of a decentralized Syria. On Friday, October 20, reports Reuters with reference to the statement of the U.S.-supported military forces — “the Democratic forces of Syria” (DSS).
“We promise to protect the border of the province from all external threats and we reaffirm that the future of raqqa province will be determined by its people within a decentralized democratic Syria with a Federal system,” reads the statement of the representatives of DSS.
On October 17 it became known that the Arab-krudski groups “of the Democratic forces of Syria” completely cleared from the militants of Raqqa, self-proclaimed capital of the terrorist group “Islamic state” (banned in Russia).
The terrorists seized the city in 2013. The liberation of Raqqa was one of the main goals of the international antiterrorist coalition headed by USA, the leading military operations against extremists in Iraq and Syria.
