The command post of the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG, is prohibited in Russia) destroyed the Russian air and space forces (VKS) in the village of Mayadin in Syria. This was reported by official representative of Russian defense Ministry major General Igor Konashenkov, reports on Saturday, October 7, RIA Novosti.
According to him, eliminated up to 80 militants, including 9 people from the North Caucasus. Also destroyed 18 enemy with heavy weapons and three of the ammunition depot.
Konashenkov added that killed the influential field commanders of ISIS, long time hiding in Iraq, natives of the North Caucasus: Abu Omar al-Shishani, Alauddin al-Shishani and Salahuddin al-Shishani.
Defense Ministry spokesman explained that on the last day of operation HQs in Syria were focused on the destruction of the underpinnings of militants with a large number of foreign mercenaries coming from Iraq.
