MOSCOW, September 29. /TASS/. Thursday held talks in Ankara with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed the coincidence of positions of two countries on key issues of middle East settlement. Speaking to reporters following the meeting, which lasted a total of about four hours, the leaders of Turkey and Russia supported the territorial integrity of Iraq and Syria and expressed readiness to continue joint work on areas of de-escalation in Syria.
Erdogan and Putin also discussed issues of economic cooperation, noting the increasing bilateral trade and the increase in tourist exchanges.
Syrian settlement
Calling Turkish President a “friend”, the Russian leader said that the meeting, which “was exclusively working character” allowed “thoroughly, openly exchange views on the bilateral cooperation in various fields, and to discuss our further joint actions in the context of the settlement of the Syrian crisis”.
