Poroshenko instructed to sue Russia over the Crimean bridge

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed to sue Russia over the construction of the Crimean bridge. On Friday, September 29, in his microblog on Twitter reported the press Secretary of the President Svyatoslav Tsigalko.

“The President instructed to sue the Russian Federation for environmental damage,”- he wrote.

On 5 September, a representative of the so-called Prosecutor’s office of Autonomous Republic of Crimea (Department of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, located in Kiev) Gunduz Mammadov said that the loss of Ukraine from the construction by Russia of the Crimean bridge is 10 billion (22 billion rubles). “We are preparing the appointment of ecological and engineering expertise,” he said.

In may, representatives of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine stated that the construction of Crimean bridge can lead to regional environmental disaster.

The building should connect the Crimea and Krasnodar Krai. The total length of the bridge will be 19 kilometers, it will be the longest in Russia. It is expected that road traffic will start in 2018, and train in 2019.
