Poll: half of Russians buy drugs only when absolutely necessary
MOSCOW, September 28 — RIA Novosti. More than half of Russians, just like two years ago, I buy drugs only when absolutely necessary, try to choose cheaper alternatives, or do use traditional medicine, said in a press release of the research holding “ROMIR”.
In the poll “romira” took part 1 thousand people aged 18 years and older, living in all types of cities in all Federal districts. The sample represents the adult urban population of Russia. The research holding asked the Russians a few questions about the use of medicines in recent years — the volume of their purchase, the choice of the manufacturer, the attempts of import substitution. ROMIR conducted the same survey in the fall of 2015.
“More than half of respondents try to save on medication by buying drugs only when absolutely necessary (32%), either choosing cheaper counterparts (18%) or using traditional medicine (4%),” reads the study.
While a third of respondents stated that it continues to buy the same drugs and in the same volume as before, despite the price.
“However, the price factor in the choice of drugs remains the most important. In recent years, the Russians began to listen more to the advice of doctors when selecting drugs, although experience from previous use and identified the medicinal properties do not neglect”, the study says.
