In Russia decreased mortality
For the first eight months of 2017 were able to save by 31.2 the lives of thousands of Russians more than a year earlier. On Thursday, September 28, the press service of the Ministry of health of Russia, quoting the head of Department Veronika Skvortsova.
“For the first eight months of this year, according to Rosstat, the population mortality rate compared to the same period last year decreased by 2.5 percent and amounted to 12.7 cases per 1000 population (eight months of 2016 — 13,0),” said Skvortsova.
Decrease of mortality from all major causes.
Tuberculosis mortality decreased by 17.7 per cent (6.5 per 100 thousand population), respiratory diseases by 10 per cent (43.4 per 100 thousand population), including pneumonia — by 19.5 percent (from 17.7 per 100 thousand population). Mortality from diseases of the digestive system decreased by 4.5 percent (USD 63.0 per 100 thousand population), diseases of the circulatory system — 3.7 percent (596,4 per 100 thousand population).
Skvortsova also drew attention to the reduction of mortality from neoplasms by 3 percent (196,9 per 100 thousand population). “For the first time the mortality rate from malignant neoplasms reached 194,3 per 100 thousand population, i.e., target,” — said the Minister.
Mortality from external causes decreased by 10.6 percent (95,7 per 100 thousand population) from accidents by 8 per cent, of deaths from alcohol poisoning decreased by 20.3 percent.
According to Rosstat, in the first five months of 2017 in Russia recorded a significant excess of deaths over births. During this period, died 791 thousand citizens were born 679,2 thousand. The population declined by 31.1 thousand, or 0.02 per cent, to $ 146,8 million.
