Radical movement “the Taliban” (banned in Russia) has claimed responsibility for the rocket attack in the Afghan capital Kabul. The aim of the attack was the Minister of defence of the USA James Mattis, reports USA Today.
The head of the U.S. defense Department James Mattis and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg arrived with an unannounced visit to Kabul on Wednesday, September 27.
After that, as reported in the Ministry of interior of Afghanistan, near the city’s airport fell several missiles. As a result, nobody was hurt.
Tolo News reported about 20-30 rockets fired at the airport and its surroundings, noting that the purpose of the strikes could be a NATO base nearby, TV channel Tolo News.
On 6 September, Reuters, citing a source in the Pentagon said that the US will add to Afghanistan 3.5 thousand soldiers.
