Russia and the United States will create in orbit of the moon a new station Deep Space Gateway
ADELAIDE (Australia), 27 Sep — RIA Novosti. The heads of space agencies of Russia and the USA agreed on the creation of a new space station Deep Space Gateway in orbit of the moon, starting in 2024, said the head of Roscosmos Igor Komarov at the International Astronautical Congress 2017 in Australia.
It is agreed that participation in the project can take China, India and other BRICS countries.
“We have agreed that we will jointly participate in the creation of a new international lunar station, Deep Space Gateway. In the first stage we will build the orbital part with the prospect of further application of proven technologies of on the surface of the moon and subsequently Mars. The output of the first modules is possible in 2024-2026 year,” — said Komarov.
