The Investigative Committee in St. Petersburg opened a criminal case against the parents of the deceased HIV-positive girls. This was reported on the website of the regional Central Board Tuesday, September 26.
According to investigators, the biological mother of the child, whose identity is not established, was also infected with HIV. Immediately after birth the girl was on the account of the Center for prevention and control of AIDS and infectious diseases with the same diagnosis. At the age of four she was adopted.
“Foster parents are strongly deviated from the premises of the child treatment and passing them highly active antiretroviral therapy, was concealed from medical professionals that it AIDS. As a result of congenital disease girls progressed and has reached a critical stage, which led to her death”, — stated in the message. It is noted that the case against the parents was filed under part 1 of article 109 of the criminal code “Causing death by negligence”.
