Iran threatened to accelerate its nuclear program in the event of a US withdrawal from the nuclear deal

Iran may accelerate its nuclear program if the U.S. withdraws from the agreement in the atom, but it will still remain peaceful. On Sunday, 24 September, said Iranian foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, RIA Novosti reported.

“Iran has a number of features, which include the withdrawal from the agreement and return to the nuclear program at a faster pace. This program will remain peaceful, but will not touch or accept the constraints that we previously adopted,” — said Zarif, answering a question of journalists about the plans of Iran in case of US withdrawal from the agreement.

It is noted that the revision of the program was held in the USA every three months. Earlier, the President, Donald trump already threatened to withdraw from the agreement.

Earlier in September, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, speaking at a session of the UN General Assembly, promised that the Republic would not be the first to break the nuclear deal, concluded in 2015. He stressed that in the event of breach by either party of Iran will act firmly and decisively.

In may, trump demanded that Iran immediately cease financial and military support of terrorists and all kinds of militias. According to him, the Iranian authorities provide diverse support to terrorist organizations “from Lebanon to Iraq and Yemen, Tehran has funded, armed and trained terrorists and other extremist groups that sow destruction and chaos in the region. This is a government that speaks openly about the mass killings, calls for the destruction of Israel and the United States.”

The historic agreement on the settlement of the longstanding problem of the Iranian atom has been achieved by Iran and the “six” of international mediators on 14 July 2015. Adopted a joint comprehensive plan of action (SVPD), which removes Iran’s previously imposed economic and financial sanctions by the UN security Council, US and EU. It entered into force on 16 January 2016.
