The majority of Russians approve of the work of Vladimir Putin as President of Russia, according to the September rankings of “Levada-center”.

According to published data, 83% of respondents approve of Putin as President, the opposite view is held by 17% of respondents. Speaking about the situation in the country, 54% of Russians said that things are going in the right direction, that the country is moving in the wrong direction, said 28% of respondents, and undecided 18%.

According to the “Levada-centre”, views of the Russians in the assessments of the work of the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has divided: 52% of respondents indicated their disapproval of the activities of the Russian Prime Minister, positive about his work spoke for 48%. Speaking about the activities of the government, 52% of respondents declared their approval, and 47% hold the opposite opinion.

In addition, according to “Levada-center”, 56% of the respondents also positively evaluate the activities of chapters in their region, 43% expressed disapproval. Assessing the activity of the state Duma of Russia, 54% of respondents said they did not approve of her work, in support of the work of the state Duma voted 45% of the respondents.

The survey was conducted from 15 to 19 September 2017 on a representative nationwide sample among 1.6 thousand people over the age of 18 in 137 localities of the country. The study was conducted in the home of Respondent by personal interview. The statistical error does not exceed 3.4%.

Regular elections of the President of Russia will be held in 2018. Already aware of plans by some politicians to participate in the upcoming electoral campaign, including, for example, the LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky, one of the founders of the party “Yabloko” Grigory Yavlinsky. “Fair Russia” and the Communist party announced that it will decide on the nomination of candidates at their congresses. The intention to run in the upcoming elections also said the political scientist Andrey Bogdanov and one of the founders of the movement “Nashi” Boris Yakimenko.

The administration of the President yet does not answer the question of the participation of the President in the campaign of 2018. Earlier on a press-conferences following the results of participation in the BRICS summit, Putin, answering a question on participation in presidential elections of the Russian Federation, stated that the statutory time those who want to participate in them, say about it. The President added that “we have once the election campaign to announce, once everything stops working, I know firsthand”.
