UN, 22 Sep — RIA Novosti. Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip, speaking from the rostrum of the UN General Assembly demanded the withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria.
On the territory of Transnistria located operative group of Russian troops, which is the successor of the 14th combined arms army which after disintegration of the USSR was transferred under the jurisdiction of Russia. The main objectives of the task force — a peacekeeping mission and the protection of warehouses with ammunition.

Earlier, the Ambassador of the Republic to the UN Victor Moraru sent to the UN Secretariat a letter, which said that the country expects to submit to the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly the question of the withdrawal of the foreign military. Later, the foreign Ministry of Moldova said that “the initiative does not apply to the withdrawal of Russian troops, which are part of the tripartite peacekeeping forces in the security Zone of the Transnistrian region”. The Secretariat of the President of the General Assembly was informed that consideration of the inclusion in the program of the UNGA item on the withdrawal of foreign troops from Moldova delayed until October.
