Russian weather forecasters have denied reports of an extremely cold winter

“The forecast for the heating season does not portend the extreme cold weather, extreme events,” — said Vilfand.
He explained that earlier in mass media appeared information with reference to the “unnamed experts” that during the heating season, there might be some extreme events.
However, the meteorologist stressed that the calculations of Russian specialists such forecasts do not give.
“The probability of our predictions, scientifically confirmed, is about 60%. It is, but there is no scientific basis for forecasting extreme events for the season,” — said Vilfand.
