In St. Louis detained 80 protesters against the acquittal of the murderer of Negro

The American police St. Louis (Missouri) arrested 80 protesters against the acquittal handed down by a former law enforcement officer for the murder of a Negro. About it reports NBC News.

In a statement, the law enforcement agencies said that groups of protesters tried to organize riots in the city centre. When this was attacked several police officers: one was taken to hospital with serious injuries, against other activists used an unknown chemical substance.

In his Twitter police St. Louis reported that the detainees were seized weapons.

The protests began on September 15 after the court of St. Louis acquitted against the former police officer Jason Stockley, who in 2011 shot and killed a black suspect, Anthony Lamar Smith.

20 Dec 2011 Stockley tried to stop Smith after the alleged narcotics transaction. The man did not obey the officer and tried to escape by car. During the chase, police fired in the suspect’s car and screamed, “I’m going to kill that bastard!” Guards managed to stop the car of the attacker, after which he approached the car and shot five times in Smith’s point-blank.
