This morning the operational-investigative group consisting of employees of GSU SKR and control “M” of FSB of Russia (oversees the police), carried out searches and seized documents in the apartment, cottage and in the office of the Deputy Director of the Federal penitentiary service Oleg Korshunov. According to preliminary data, mister Korshunov is suspected of embezzlement in especially large size (part 4 of article 160 of the criminal code) and abuse of office (article 285 of the criminal code). According to sources, “Kommersant”, after the searches, the investigation intends to deliver Mr. Korshunova in the Central building of the TFR for questioning as a suspect and possibly charge him.
The case of embezzlement may be associated with the construction of the SIZO “Kresty-2” in Saint-Petersburg.
