The state Department has threatened Russia and China with sanctions assistance to the DPRK
WASHINGTON, September 12 — RIA Novosti. The United States would continue to take measures against Russia and China if they will support the DPRK, said the acting Deputy assistant Secretary Susan Thornton.
According to her, the US “acknowledged” that “the success of the strategy of pressure will depend on the cooperation with international partners, especially with Beijing”.
“We continue to work with China and Russia to improve compliance with the sanctions (against North Korea), but much remains to be done. We hope to work with China and Russia to solve this issue and will continue the dialogue on how to further exert pressure on the DPRK”, — reads the statement of the diplomat.
Thornton noted that USA “made it clear that if China and Russia will not act, we will use the tools we have”.
