MOSCOW, September 8. /TASS/. The defense Ministry is outraged by the demolition of the mausoleum in the cemetery of the soldiers of the red army in the Polish city of Warsaw. This was stated to journalists on Saturday, the head of Department of the Ministry of defence on perpetuating of memory of victims at protection of Fatherland Vladimir Popov.
“The Polish authorities without the consent of the Russian side within the grave demolished all the architectural elements of the burial, including the mausoleum of soldiers of the red Army, he said. — This is an outrageous desecration of the memory of those who liberated the world from the brown plague — fascism.”
The Russian Embassy in Poland has previously expressed in connection with this event a strong protest. It was also noted that the Russian side has already officially indicated to the Polish authorities that the demolition of the memorial would be contrary to the Russian-Polish intergovernmental agreement of 1994 on the graves and places of memory of victims of war and repression.
