The U.S. Embassy in Moscow has resumed issuing visas
The U.S. Embassy in Moscow has resumed processing applications for visas suspended in connection with the downsizing of the us diplomatic mission in Russia.
This was stated by state Department spokesman USA Heather Nauert during the briefing.
“The visa issuance process was resumed on 1 September. We still have enough consular staff to this work in our Embassy, so we not so fast processed applications for the issuance of visas”, — quotes “RIA Novosti” the representative of the state Department.
We will remind, on July 28, the Russian authorities demanded the United States to reduce the number of employees of American diplomatic missions on the territory of Russia up to 455 people. In response, the US state Department demanded to close the Consulate General of Russia in San Francisco and the Russian trade mission in Washington and new York.
This week the President of Russia Vladimir Putin at a press conference on the results of the BRICS summit in Xiamen accused Washington of violating the property rights of Moscow and instructed the Ministry of foreign Affairs to sue due to the closure by US authorities of a number of diplomatic facilities of the Russian Federation.
