The energy Ministry decided to ban 50-watt bulb
The Ministry of energy will examine the issue of banning the production and sale of incandescent lamps with power above 50 watts. This was told by Deputy Minister Anton Inyutsin, reports RIA Novosti.
He noted that on the calculations and elaboration by the office of the bill in the case of a positive decision will take several months.
According to officials, over the past five years, the proportion of led lamps increased from two to 28 percent of the market, and the cost of energy-saving lamps has decreased. It is necessary to continue to create the conditions so that these lamps cost a couple of dollar instead of the current 3.5 dollars.
Researchers lamented the fact that in Russia the share of lighting accounts for about 13 percent of annual consumption.
The ban on incandescent bulbs was adopted in 2009 at the initiative of Dmitry Medvedev, who at that time held the post of President of Russia.
