Lavrov said Russia would respond to the closure of diplomatic missions in the United States
MOSCOW, September 1 — RIA Novosti. Moscow will take measures in connection with anti-Russian policy of the United States, said the Minister of foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov.
The head of the foreign Ministry said, speaking on Friday at MGIMO.
He also stressed that the sanctions policy of the United States was initiated by the administration ex-US President Barack Obama to undermine Russian-American relations and not to allow the President to Trump to fulfill campaign promises to normalize relations between the two countries.
Washington on Thursday evening announced new limitations in activities of Russian diplomatic missions in the United States, according to which from September 2 to close the Russian Consulate General in San Francisco and consular properties in Washington and new York.
