The President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent to the Chairman of the State Council and the Council of Ministers of Cuba Raul Castro a telegram in which he expressed his condolences in connection with death of Cuban leader Fidel Castro. On Saturday, November 26, reported on the Kremlin website.
“I Express You and all the Cuban people the deepest condolences with the death of the leader of the Cuban revolution, Your brother of Fidel Castro. The name of this distinguished statesman is considered to be the symbol of an era in recent world history”, — stated in the text of the message.
The President also recalled that Castro-the senior has made a great contribution to the development of Russian-Cuban relations, was ” a sincere and reliable friend of Russia.” Putin noted the patriotism of the Cuban leader, his belief in the rightness of their cause, to which he gave his whole life.
“In this mournful hour I ask to transfer words of sympathy and support to all members of Your family. I wish you courage and fortitude in the face of this irreparable loss,” — appealed to Putin to Raul Castro.
Fidel Castro died on November 25 at 22:29 local time (06:29 MSK). On the death of his brother, announced the head of Cuba Raul Castro, in an address on national television. He said that the body of the leader of the revolution according to his will to be cremated.
