Bashar Al-Assad
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad expressed readiness to cooperate with future us leader Donald trump, if he will fight terrorism. The head of the Arab Republic said on Tuesday, November 15, in an interview with RTP.
However, he said he did not expect much from the future head of state in this matter because “the U.S. administration is not limited to the President, and trump will be subject to the influence of lobbyists”. “We are very careful in their judgments about what will make trump at his post. But if he really intends to fight terrorists, then we will be natural allies on this issue — as with Russia, Iran and many other countries,” — said Assad.
The head of the Arab Republic proposed to wait for trump to take office. “We have always urged the US to respect international law and not to interfere in the Affairs of other States. And, of course, Washington should stop supporting terrorists in Syria,” Assad added.
The fight against terrorism is one of the main points of the electoral program of the trump. The Republican has repeatedly criticized the middle East policy of the current President of the United States, which, in his opinion, led to a surge of radical Islamism and terrorism in the region.
November 12, trump said he was ready to cooperate with Damascus in the fight against the terrorist group “Islamic state” (IG banned in Russia) and to stop using the so-called moderate Syrian opposition. Also during his election campaign, the Republican promised that if elected President of the United States will not overthrow the regimes in other States.
In addition, trump has repeatedly expressed hope for cooperation with Moscow, particularly in the fight against ISIS. From this step it warned the head of the Pentagon Ashton Carter, the Minister for foreign Affairs of great Britain, Boris Johnson.
