More than fifty high-ranking U.S. military retired wrote a letter asking presidential candidate from Republican Donald Trump, that he has published a tax return to establish the possible relations with the Russian leadership, reports the associated Press.
“A group of 62 high-ranking military officers retired have expressed concern about possible links of Donald trump with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They call upon the Republican nominee to publish a tax return to determine whether financial ties with Moscow”, — writes the Agency.
The officers wonder whether trump, if elected President to serve the national security interests of his country. “In the letter they say that trump has taken some steps in favor of Moscow, in particular, he refused to recognize the conclusions of the intelligence agencies about the relationship of the Kremlin with the latest hacker attacks on the system of national Committee of Democratic party of the USA”, — said the Agency.
The letter was signed by the military and several people who were involved in politics in recent years, including the former commander of NATO forces in Europe Wesley Clark.
Earlier edition of the New York Times, citing its sources reported that the FBI found no evidence ties the Republican candidate for U.S. President Donald trump with the authorities of the Russian Federation. According to the publication, almost all summer, FBI agents searched extensively for any financial connections of trump and his advisers in the presidential campaign. According to a source in power structures of the USA, no investigation to date has not found links between trump and the Russian government.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said allegations that Russia’s influence on the election process in the United States are mythical problem and hysteria. The head of state noted that during the election campaign, “it’s much easier to divert people’s attention on Russia’s so-called hackers, spies, agents of influence,” than to discuss really important for the American society of problems.
According to the President of the Russian Federation, allegations that Donald trump is a favorite, is a method of political struggle, a way of manipulating public opinion. The Russian head of state stressed that Moscow would work with any U.S. President, who will choose the American people.
