The Chinese authorities have forbidden to establish joint ventures with the participation of the DPRK

The decision was made in the framework of article 12 of resolution 2371 of the UN Security Council.

BEIJING, August 26. /TASS/. Chinese authorities have banned individuals and companies from the DPRK to establish in China a new joint venture. As they say in a statement released on Friday evening the order of the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC, this measure shall take effect from the date of publication.

“Entity and individuals from the DPRK are prohibited to establish joint ventures and cooperatives, and enterprises with foreign capital”, — stated in the document.

“In addition, the already established businesses are forbidden to expand their capital,” — said in a statement.

According to the Ministry, these measures are linked to the implementation of article 12 of resolution 2371 of the UN Security Council.

Previously, from August 15, China imposed an embargo on imports of coal, seafood, and iron, lead and ores of these metals from the DPRK.
