TASS, 26 Aug. /TASS/. Three people, according to preliminary data, were killed in the collision of the van with an electric locomotive at a railway crossing in the Amur region. About it reports on Saturday a press-service regional Department of internal Affairs.

“Today at the railway crossing station Ice Svobodnensky district was a collision of Nissan Vanette with electric. According to preliminary information, the accident three people were killed”, — stated in the message.

In a press-service of the Transbaikalian railway, said that the culprit of the accident was the driver of the Nissan.

“The driver of the car, violating traffic rules, drove into the path of the oncoming single locomotive by banning traffic light. The locomotive engineer applied the emergency brake, but the distance to stop has been insufficient, and the collision occurred, after which the van caught fire. Sound and light alarm of the railway crossing in the time of the accident worked properly”, — stated in the message of the railway.
