Thai student jailed for repost notes “Bi-bi-si”

Thai student Getopt Unattracti got two and a half years in prison for the repost notes “Bi-bi-si” insulting the king. About it reports The Independent.

A young man posted a link to a short article in the Thai language, which describes the way of life of king Mahi Vajiralongkorn. On December 3 he was arrested. Unattrac pleaded guilty, and the sentence of five years in prison was reduced to two and a half years.

Currently for insulting members of the Royal family in Thai prisons serving sentences of about 100 people. 9 Jun Thai received for insulting the Royal family 35 years in prison.

Maha Vajiralongkorn was proclaimed the new king of Thailand on 1 December 2016. The new monarch ascended to the throne as the 10th king of the Chakri dynasty (Rama X) after the death of the previous king, his father Pumipon Adulyadej (Rama IX). His official name and title of His Majesty king Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodencreditbank.
