Prime Minister of Japan formed a new government

TOKYO, Aug 3 — RIA Novosti, Yekaterina Plyasunova. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe formed a new Cabinet, replacing Ministers of foreign Affairs and the Ministry of defence.

The announcement was made Secretary General of the government, Yoshihide Suga during a press conference, the broadcast was carried by TV channel NHK.

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers held an emergency meeting at which members of the government gave Shinzo Abe’s resignation. On the same day held an emergency meeting of the ruling liberal democratic party (LDP), which has announced new appointments to senior posts.

The new foreign Minister of Japan was Taro Kono, who has previously performed the duties of the head of the Ministry of administrative reform. Former Minister of foreign Affairs of Japan, Fumio Kishida, who is considered one of the main candidates for the presidency of the LDP in the future, appointed head of the policy Council of the party.

The new Minister of defense became Itsunori Onodera, who has held this position since December 2012 nearly two years. Until the government reshuffle, he was acting head of the political Council of the LDP.
