Karelia prepares for elections

Citizens of Karelia for the first time since 2002, will elect the head of the Republic. Headed the region for nearly five years Alexander Khudilainen prematurely left the post in February 2017 not enough to the end of the first gubernatorial term of four months. According to experts, his resignation was expected. During the leadership of Republic the native of Leningrad region failed to become “his” in the region. In Karelia periodically there were political scandals, Judilynn received a personal reprimand from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin for the failure of the program of resettlement of citizens from emergency housing, and also happened a great tragedy — the death of children on the lake Syamozero.
Acting head of the Republic was appointed the 52-year-old Artur Parfenchikov informed the Director of the Federal bailiff service of the Russian Federation. He was born in Petrozavodsk and almost 20 years working in various positions in regional office of public Prosecutor. Parfenchikov has put forward on elections “United Russia”, while it is a non-partisan candidate.
