Residents of Udmurtia will vote for a new head of the Republic

Elections of the head of the Udmurt Republic will be held after the previous head of the region Alexander Soloviev in connection with loss of trust was withdrawn by the head of state from office. In April Solovyov was detained on suspicion of receiving 140 million in bribes from the contractors for the construction of bridges in the region.
Acting head of the Republic was appointed Alexander Brechalov, who before moving to Izhevsk worked for three years on the post of Secretary of the Public chamber of the Russian Federation and still is the co-Chairman of the Central headquarters of the onf. His candidacy was proposed by the party “United Russia”.
CEC had registered five of the eight candidates who have declared their intention to participate in elections. In addition Brechalov is the representative of the Communist party MP Vladimir Bodrov; the candidate from LDPR, the Deputy and the chief engineer of one of the companies of the region Timur Yagafarov; Farid Yunusov from “Fair Russia”; Director and chief editor of “Agency “the Capital of Izhevsk” Andrei Ivanov of the Communist party.
