Deputy foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Ryabkov said that Russia and the United States are not in a state of cold war in its classical sense, because reasons for such a confrontation there. This is the website of “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
“I don’t think we are in a new cold war due to the fact that there is no reason for this war in its old sense,” — said Ryabkov in an interview to Chinese and Japanese media.
He added that there is no confrontation of systems, ideologies, “the struggle for, say, the triumph of ideas”.
In addition, the diplomat noted that the United States is increasingly seeking to dictate its will to Russia and also to achieve change in the political course of the Russian Federation, including with use of “prohibited practices”.
Previously Deputy head of the Russian foreign Ministry commented on the new U.S. sanctions against Russian citizens and companies that are accused of cooperation with North Korea. As said Ryabkov, the Russian foreign Ministry has already started working on a response.
