Two Americans in record time came on the boat the distance between the U.S. and Cuba

Two Americans for 1 hour and 18 minutes crossed Thursday speedboat separating the U.S. and Cuba, the Florida Straits, thereby setting a world record. Nigel hook and Jay Johnson started on the speed boat #77 Lucas Oil SilverHook from the city of Key West, Florida at 08:43 local time (15:43 GMT). In the Bay of Havana, they were in 10:01.
The distance between Key West and the Cuban capital, is about 160 km.
Hook ran the boat, and Johnson was regulated speed. Throughout the route the Americans were accompanied by a safety net for the two helicopters.
A bright red boat, whose length is 14.6 m, equipped with the latest technology. In particular, it has installed software developed by a group of Russian engineers. “This unique system allows in real time to obtain data on the condition of the boat, in particular, its two motors, as well as alerts about potential problems and ways of their solution”, — said the correspondent of TASS on the finish of the hook.
