The transport infrastructure in the Central Federal district remain targets of international terrorism. About this at the meeting on transport and security in the region, said Secretary of the Russian security Council Nikolai Patrushev.

— The available data suggests that transport infrastructure and vehicles continue to be the priority targets of international terrorist organizations, — said Patrushev.

He said that the establishment of a special unit for transport safety is one of the key measures for the protection of the entire transport sector. We will remind, last Monday, employees of FSB have detained several people on suspicion of preparing a series of terrorist acts on the territory of Moscow and Moscow region. Terrorist targets could be transportation facilities, and major shopping centers in the capital and its suburbs.
