The Russians chose foreign policy priorities

The majority of Russians (59 percent) believe that a priority of foreign policy of the state should be to ensure a peaceful and safe existence of the country. This is evidenced by the data of the survey “Levada-Center”, published by the “Interfax”.

According to 49 percent of respondents, the main should be the restoration of Russia’s prestige on the world stage, while 41 percent believes it’s more important to protect domestic producers.

Also among the priorities listed maintaining friendly relations with the most developed countries (27 per cent), conflict resolution in hot spots and counter terrorism together with other countries (21 percent), to counter the growth of influence of the United States (19 percent) and the strengthening of Russia’s influence in the world (14 percent).

The survey “Levada-center” was held from 22 to 26 June. It was attended by 1,600 people from 48 regions of the country.

In June, “Levada-center” published the results of a study according to which the majority of respondents named the United States and Ukraine the main opponents of Russia. The main friends of respondents believe Belarus, China and Kazakhstan.
