The expulsion of the Russian journalist of “Novaya Gazeta” Hudaberdi Nurmatov (alias Ali Feruz) will not be made until his complaint to the European court of human rights (ECHR) on the merits.

About it reported in Department of information and press of the Russian foreign Ministry.

“The decision of the Basmanny court of Moscow in respect of Hudaberdi Nurmatov was reviewed in the Moscow city court, which on 8 August ruled that the decision of the court of first instance shall be suspended until, until the complaint Nurmatov will not be considered on the merits of the ECHR. Thus, before the emergence of these circumstances, the expulsion of the aforementioned persons will not be”, — said in a diplomatic office.

The foreign Ministry said that the decision of the Moscow city court is not final and may be appealed by the defence of the journalist.

Questions of execution of decisions of the ECtHR on the application of interim measures under rule 39 of the rules of the ECHR in the form of a ban on any forced displacement of the person concerned are the responsibility of the Commissioner Russia at the ECHR, the Deputy Minister of justice Mikhail Galperin.

“The office of the Commissioner has timely notified the relevant competent authorities about the necessity of compliance with the ECHR temporary prohibition of refoulement Nurmatov in accordance with article 39 of the rules of the ECHR,” — said the foreign Ministry.
