VTSIOM: the demand for stability has been replaced by the demand for change

According to the head of the center Valery Fyodorov, now in Russia there is a new phase — “insecurity”.

This opinion was expressed on Tuesday the General Director of the Russian center for public opinion studies (VTSIOM) Valery Fedorov, the all-Russian youth forum “Territory meanings on the Klyazma”.

In a speech on “Current trends: the new society, values, technology and future,” Fyodorov said that since the great recession ended, but not came large-scale economic growth, Russia is experiencing a new phase — “insecurity”.

This phase, according to the head of VTSIOM, is “dangerous”, as “revolutionary sentiments do not appear in a situation of crisis and when the crisis is over and getting better.”

“In this situation, people stop suffering and start to demand. In this situation, you are prompted to change,” he said, noting that “today the query on the stability goes to the periphery”.

The head of VTSIOM believes that today the political struggle in Russia “is for whose way of change will prevail”.
