Media: hackers stole data about the plot of “Game of thrones”
According to the magazine Enterteinment Weekly, attackers are going to reveal the plot of several episodes.
NEW YORK, July 31. /TASS/. Unknown hackers managed to steal from the computer systems of American HBO’s upcoming series of the television Saga “Game of thrones”. This was announced on Monday the electronic version of the American magazine Entertainment Weekly.
According to the publication, the attackers are going to reveal the plot of several episodes of “Game of thrones”, about the contents of the two of them they have already published. The hackers claim that in total they managed to steal 1.5 terabytes of information from HBO.
The representatives of the channel confirmed that its computers had been hacked. As follows from the memo circulated among staff, the hackers gained access to “commercial information”, which is not specified. The document in question was published on the website of the TV channel ABC.
“We immediately started investigating the incident and cooperating with law enforcement authorities, as well as companies specializing in information security”, — said in a note. — Data safety is a priority for HBO, and we take seriously our obligations.
Episode of HBO’s “Game of thrones” created on motives of a cycle of novels “a Song of ice and fire” by George Martin. Premiere of the first season took place on 17 April 2011. The series is one of the most expensive projects in the history of American television.
The premiere of the first series of the seventh season of “Game of thrones” took place in Russia in the night of July 18.
