Putin said the priority of the transport strategy of Russia

Cooperation with the Asia-Pacific region (APR) is a priority of the transport strategy of the Russian Federation, the statement says Russian President Vladimir Putin to the participants of the Ministerial conference of ESCAP on transport.

“Cooperation with partners in the Asia-Pacific region is a priority of the transport strategy of Russia. The unique geographical scale, Asia-Pacific, its enormous demographic, economic and transit potential determine the relevance of a particular formation in that part of the world an effective, integrated transport system”, — is spoken in the message published on the Kremlin website.

The President noted that the agenda contains a range of topical issues connected with the improvement of the legal framework of international transport, the introduction of new materials and technologies and extension of transport networks and their connection with the infrastructure of other regions.

In addition, the President of the Russian Federation considers the timely establishment of the Council for cooperation of Euro-Asian transport links.

“In this context is very important and timely initiative of ESCAP on the establishment of the Council for cooperation of Euro-Asian transport linkages that would ensure coordination of effort with various international organisations responsible for transport issues in Asia and Europe,” he said.

Putin noted that joint work will strengthen mutually beneficial international cooperation, accelerate the pace of socio-economic development in the Eurasian space and beyond.
